APAF has recently added Difference Gel Electrophoresis (DIGE) to our available proteomics services. DIGE allows researchers to focus only on proteins of relevance whilst simultaneously removing gel to gel variation by the incorporation of an internal standard for every gel spot.

Human Health
Proteomics has enormous potential in a wide variety of endeavours in pursuit of improved human health. Biomarker Discovery programs have been designed to identify markers present in diseased states and will provide opportunities for diagnosis of otherwise unidentifiable disorders and in turn provide targets for therapeutic intervention, be it for conventional pharmaceuticals or using personalised medicine regimes.

APAF has assisted through provision of proteomics infrastructure and expertise in studies aimed at improving human health in fields including

  • Leukaemia
  • Cardiac disease
  • Immunological disorders
  • Diabetes
  • Infectious disease
